New cut flower food sachets with 35% post-consumer recycled plastic

Vaselife cut flower food sachet with 35% PCR material, surrounded by flowers

Vaselife International has introduced a new generation of packaging for its cut flower food sachets, made from mono-material polyethylene (mono-PE) film containing 35% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic.

The sachets are designed to improve recyclability by using a single plastic type and to reduce the use of virgin, fossil-based plastic. The PCR material is sourced from post-consumer recycling streams, supporting a more circular approach to packaging without affecting product performance or shelf life.

Already meeting the EU's 2030 recycled content target

Under the European Union's new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), plastic packaging in the category other plastic packaging will be required to contain at least 35% post-consumer recycled material from 2030, subject to the regulation's implementation timetable.

With 35% PCR content, Vaselife's new packaging already meets this 2030 recycled-content target, several years ahead of the planned deadline.

With this innovation, Vaselife is taking a leading step in the cut flower food market by introducing mono-PE sachets with integrated PCR content.

Improving step by step

At Vaselife, we believe sustainability is about making practical improvements that deliver real results. From developing effective flower care products to improving our packaging, we continuously look for ways to reduce our environmental impact while maintaining the quality and performance our customers expect.

The introduction of our new PCR 35+ packaging is another step in that journey. By reducing the use of virgin plastic, improving recyclability and anticipating future European regulations, we are helping our customers prepare for a more sustainable future.
