How we make a difference.

For us, sustainability is not about grand declarations, but about making meaningful improvements throughout the flower chain.

We continuously review our products, packaging and processes to find practical ways to reduce waste, use materials more responsibly and lower our environmental impact.

We base our decisions on facts, work closely with our partners and communicate openly about both the progress we make and the work that still needs to be done.

Because becoming more sustainable is not a one-time achievement. It is an ongoing responsibility.

UN Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible consumption and productionRoyal FloraHolland Greenovation Award, nominated 2020

Reducing flower waste

Our flower care products help flowers stay fresh and beautiful for longer. In our dedicated testing room, which meets recognised VBN testing conditions, we test flowers and products to improve performance. We also use audits and practical advice to help customers improve quality and reduce flower waste throughout the chain.

What we are working on

Further developing and testing solutions that extend flower life and setting a target to reduce our own waste by 25% over five years.

UN Sustainable Development Goal 6: Clean water and sanitation

Reducing water use

Our powder and liquid flower food formulas keep water fresh for at least seven days, reducing the need for frequent water changes during transport, in-store display and at home.

What we are working on

Developing solutions that keep water usable for even longer and exploring systems that capture and reuse process water.

UN Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate action

Making decisions based on evidence

We test our products, packaging and applications and use the results to improve their performance and environmental impact. We also work with specialist partners such as the LCA Centre to assess the actual impact of our packaging choices.

What we are working on

Calculating the carbon footprint of our products and value chain. These insights will help us set clear and measurable reduction targets.

Building a responsible supply chain

Vaselife is a Sedex member and has offered a Fairtrade product line for more than ten years. All our cardboard packaging is FSC-certified, supporting responsible forest management. We work with our suppliers and production partners to support responsible sourcing and fair working conditions. Where possible, we also source and produce locally.

What we are working on

Creating greater transparency throughout our value chain, carrying out further due diligence and introducing a clear code of conduct for suppliers.
