This policy explains how Vaselife International B.V. handles personal data when you visit this website. We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Dutch data protection law. Our online shop has its own privacy policy, which applies when you order there.
1. Who is responsible
The controller of your personal data is:
- Vaselife International B.V.
- Keurmeesterstraat 24, 1187 ZX Amstelveen, the Netherlands
- Telephone: +31 85 246 1717
- E-mail: info@vaselife.com
- Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number: 34364107
2. Your choice in the cookie banner
On your first visit we ask whether you accept cookies. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
- If you accept, we use analytics cookies and make anonymous session recordings to see how the website is used and to improve it (see section 3).
- If you decline, we place no analytics cookies and make no recordings. We then only count visits anonymously, without cookies (see section 4).
- Until you make a choice, no analytics data is collected.
3. What we collect if you accept
- The pages you visit, the links and buttons you click (for example Ask about this product, the webshop link or a language switch), how far you scroll and how long you stay on a page.
- How you arrived at the website, for example from a search engine or a link, including campaign codes in that link.
- Technical data: browser, operating system, device type, screen size and browser language.
- An approximate location (country and city) derived from your IP address. Your IP address itself is not stored.
- A random identifier in a cookie and in your browser's local storage, so that we can recognise your browser on a later visit. It does not contain your name or contact details.
- Anonymous session recordings: a reconstruction of the pages you saw and what you did on them, such as clicks and scrolling. Anything you type into a form is masked and never recorded.
We do not use this data to find out who you are, we do not combine it with other data about you and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Anonymous counting if you decline
If you decline cookies, we still count visits so that we know how often the website and its pages are used. Our analytics provider calculates a privacy-preserving code from technical details such as your IP address and browser on its own servers and then discards your IP address. Nothing is stored on your device. No session recordings are made.
5. Legal bases
- Analytics cookies and session recordings: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time with Cookie settings; this does not affect processing before the withdrawal.
- Anonymous counting without cookies, and keeping the website secure and available: our legitimate interest in understanding how our website is used and in running it properly (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- If you contact us by e-mail or telephone: answering your question, based on our legitimate interest or on taking steps at your request before entering into an agreement.
6. Cookies and local storage
- Your cookie choice is stored in your browser's local storage, so that we do not ask again on every page. This is necessary and does not require consent.
- Analytics (PostHog): a cookie and a local storage entry whose names start with ph_, placed only after you accept. They hold the random identifier and session information and expire after one year at most.
We do not use marketing or advertising cookies.
7. Who processes data for us
We do not sell personal data. We use the following service providers, who process data on our behalf and only on our instructions:
- PostHog, for analytics and session recordings. The data is stored in PostHog's EU region in Frankfurt, Germany.
- Vercel, for hosting the website. To deliver the pages, Vercel processes technical data such as IP addresses.
- Sanity, for managing the content of the website. Images and texts are loaded from Sanity's servers, which therefore receive technical data such as your IP address.
Links to our online shop and to other websites take you to services with their own privacy policies.
8. Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Vercel and Sanity may process technical data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where this happens, the transfer is based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
9. How long we keep data
- Analytics data: up to one year.
- Session recordings: 30 days.
- Your cookie choice: until you clear your browser storage or change your choice.
- E-mails and other correspondence: as long as needed to handle your question, and longer only where the law requires it.
10. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing and to receive it in a structured format. Analytics data is not linked to your name, so we may ask for information that helps us find it. Send your request to info@vaselife.com. We respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens): autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
11. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, such as encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limited access to analytics data.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The current version is always available on this page.
